Once in a while the app seems to force a complete update. The first indication is that it takes forever to read the database and then it basically starts rebuilding the collection from scratch. With over 10,000 profiles it takes hours.

I haven't done anything in particular with the database on my computer (other than regular profile updates) and it really seems like a random thing. Any ideas how to override so it only updates changes in the database?

I've seen this too, and it happened again today. I've noticed that every time it happens, it's because the IP address listed in the desktop version has changed. I don't know why it changes every so often, but it does. When I enter the new IP address in the Android version, it creates a new database, which obviously forces a complete update. Makes me wonder how many copies of the database I have living on my phone!

Does anyone know how to update the IP address without having the app create a new database? Or better yet, does anyone know how to stop the desktop version from switching IP addresses every few months?

Happened yesterday with me. But the desktop database has has the same IP for a while, so I'm not sure what it is.

It retains all information, as I can just cancel during the image update. It's all there, but the app will still go through overwriting every image (even though there's no changes)

A Database Repair triggers a complete update. Other than that I never had an unforced complete update.

I've never had a database repair trigger a complete update, Just throwing in my 2 cents.

I'm not sure that kosvines meant a complete update once in a while either. Just test it, Update Collection daily, but no database repair for a year. The update after a database repair then will be massive, I promise, if not complete. Report back in a year.

It happened here too yesterday, but I fully expected it.

I see this twice every year, when I first update the database after we change clocks to daylight saving time in March or back to standard time in October. I'm aware that this doesn't seem to be a common problem, but it's reproducible here.

That's a cool explanation.
