Recently I acquired a new Android phone (LG G3). I had not synced DVDProfiler Android from my Windows PC for ages prior to getting this phone.
Last night, I tried many times to get sync to work to the new phone, and it would just fail every time, without any meaningful error message. I read all the articles I could find here with suggestions (make sure of correct IP address, Port number, firewalls, etc, etc.).
I must have had the same issue before, and solved it, and this morning I woke up with one of those eureka moments.
The sync does not work if the DVDProfiler database is stored on a network drive!
I copied the DVDProfiler database off my NAS (where I access it from multiple Windows PCs around the house) to a local drive on the PC in question, and it works perfectly (syncing up now to my phone).
I did not change any other setting at either end of the sync. The only change which made it work was to have the database stored on a local drive instead of a network drive.
Hopefully this will save someone else some hair pulling!
Cya
