Hello,

I have a problem with loading my pc-collection of DVD-profiler into my Smartphone.
To start there is asked for portnumber which is default 32847 (no problem).  Then my password is no problem too, but the first thing which is asked (Server : Name or IP-Address), I really don't know what to type in ...
Can anybody help me please?
Thanks in advance.

The needed info is to be found at the bottom of the DVDProfiler program-window.
There you will find a line saying "Connected to 'XXXXX'(192.168.172.YYY).
The number in brackets is the server's IP-Address the name that replaces the Xs is the server-name.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
With your advice I managed to login, but now he is already one hour connecting ...
and nothing more ...
Should I do something else?  Is this normal?

DVDProfiler must be running on your PC when trying to connect.

Also, if you used the server name then try using the IP address or vice versa.

But he accepts only the name.  When i choose the ip,  i get a message like : try later,  fault data input.

What are you entering for the server name and IP address?

You might already know this but just to clear the air of any possibilities, make sure the server name is typed in without the ' ' and the IP address without the ( ).

Also, you might want to check to make sure your firewall or a router isn't preventing the program from establishing a connection.

To be honest, I don't know a damn thing about that kind of things, firewalls and stuff.
I asked it a friend and he advised me that is very dangerous to open ports.
So for him it would be better not using this app.  I'm really disappointed for that.
A few weeks ago I tried it three or four times wireless.  With that option it loaded for about an hour and then it blocked.

Huh?
Without open ports your computer wouldn't be able to communicate at all.
Any application that is accessing your internal and/or external (Internet) network requires at least partially opened ports (Listening Mode).

I agree that it can be dangerous, at least if you don't know what you are doing.
That's why you shouldn't mess with your network-settings if you don't exactly know how to.

But generally it can be said that within your local network an open port does no harm. Open ports on your external network access point (Router) should be monitored though.

Finally we managed it to work.
I had to add an extra router and personal network, caus' my router is integrated in the modem of the provider, and it seems that it gives problems in a certain way.
But now it's all ok.
Thank you again for your reactions.
