| | Posted: | | | | With KitKat, if your device has an internal SD card storage and an external SD card, then KitKat blocks full access to the external card. DVD Profiler does have the correct privileges set, but they are ignored in KitKat. It looks like Samsung devices with KitKat are the primary impacted devices.
We're updating the beta to read/write from SD cards in the KitKat-approved method, but there's no code change that we can make to access the existing databases on SD cards. There's no way to restore that functionality without rooting the device.
Additionally, the data files on the SD card will be removed during uninstall, also out of our control.
I'll see if we can come up with some instructions to move the existing databases to the new directory structure for use in the next beta version, for users who don't have a current database on either their desktop programs or the online collection. | | Posted: | | | | My Verizon Motorola Droid Razr M recently received Kit Kat 4.4.2 and I noticed the other day that I couldn't sync DVDP any more. It would always crash. I uninstalled and when I attempted to resync it doesn't give me the option to put it to the SD Card. My database is too large to be storing it on the internal SD Card. I use Media Monkey on the PC to sync my music to the external SD card and The Google Play Music app is still able to access the music from the external SD card after the update to Kit Kat. When is the new beta expected to be released, Ken?

| | Posted: | | | | Add me to the list of users that updated to KitKat and can no longer access or create a database on an external SD card. I am running KitKat 4.4.2 C-ROM, rooted, on a Samsung GS3. I have a collection of almost 1800 DVDS and BDVDs and it uses almost 500MB. I really would like to move the database off the internal SD card and back onto the external SD card to get the space back.
I would be willing to beta test.
