Is there a way to filter BD's and DVD's in the collection so that I can view just BD's or just DVD's.
I know I can create a separate database but was wondering if I can do it within the same database. Also I see that there is a plugin to be able to scan with a bar code scanner. I installed it but have not tested it because I do not have a scanner yet. Has anyone tested this plugin?

Use "Filters">"Format">"Media Type".

In v3.6 you'll be able to put them into their own Category Tab.

When will that be released? I would consider purchasing the upgrade but this feature is key for me. And it would be helpful to use a bar code scanner.
Thanks for the input.

We don't know at this time. It's currently in beta testing for registered users and it was announced recently that a new build is due. Ken won't release a final version until he's happy that he's got the (vital) bugs fixed.

No problem. Actually I was just looking at filters and noticed that a category view would be nice. I am assuming we are on the same page. What i mean is being able to add tabs like the owned tab. Maybe add a tab that says Bluray and one that says DVD so that specific movies can be separated.

As said, that is coming in 3.6. Additionally you can use a barcode scanner in the current version. As long as the scanner acts as keyboard input it will work. To test this open up notepad and scan something, if it types into notepad it will work. (some scanners require a software running to do this but most behave this way)
