| Posted: April 30, 2008 4:53 PM | | | | Does anyone have a copy of Howard the Duck on DVD that will play in Region 1.
I've seen a Directors Cut DVD available in Region 2 - but I don't want to hack a player just to watch it. |

| Posted: April 30, 2008 5:19 PM | | | | Maybe available soon here! Provided that you can set your player to codefree you can purchase the film here! You could Google for your player to be a little bit more flexible concerning region coded discs. | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: April 30, 2008 5:25 PM by kahless |

| Posted: April 30, 2008 6:56 PM | | | | Looks odd to me that this dvd isn't available in US! I always thought the normal release order of dvd's is: US -> UK -> Asia -> ???-> EUR -> GER  | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: April 30, 2008 7:02 PM by kahless |

 I believe Lucas has something to do with this title not being released in the US, but that may just be incorrect rumors. -Agrare |

| Posted: May 14, 2008 1:00 AM | | | | Quoting Dr. Killpatient: Quote: Be careful looking for it, there's bootlegs available too. There is/was a torrent of the HD broadcast, which seemed to be an almost uncut version that just looked amazing even downconverted to single layer dvd. I still can't stand the movie much. Since I got it from a private torrent site, links won't work but here's a quote from the discussion of the torrent. "I don't think it's been confirmed this is the UK version, which is the only version that would have cut scenes. It needed to be a "PG" rating, so in the intro, you'd likely get no duck boobies from the young duck lady who's bathing as Howard goes crashing through his building. The other edits are as follows: Lea Thompson pulls a little condom out of Howard's wallet after he crash-lands in Cleveland. Also, The Dark Overlord sticks his tongue in a cigarette lighter socket to "recharge" at one point. To look for: Thomas Dolby (soundtrack contributor, 80's pop star) as bartender at the venue Cherry Bomb is playing at. Holly Robinson-Peete ("21 Jump Street") is also a member of Cherry Bomb. Evidently (and I don't know if this is for real or not) George Lucas is so stupefyingly terrified of Howard the Duck, that he will bring a lawsuit against any reporter/intervew host who even mentions the name. Intense! REALLY looking forward to this. SERIOUSLY." The condom isn't there, but everything else mentioned is. I'm sure it's on some of the free/public/annoyimous trackers by now. Or check videohelp.com/dvdhacks and see if your player is easy to crack and make region free. Many are with a simple code input in the remote, some require burning and playing a cd. |

| Posted: May 14, 2008 11:19 AM | | | | If it was the HD2DVD version,I did that version to,and yes the condom scene and extended tongue scenes are missing,as well as some of the end credits LOL,I did not catch the end credits until after it was released. but it did look amazing,and had a ton of extras in the dvd rom folder.
thanks
