| Posted: | | | | I am thinking of buying Pimp my Ride Season 2 but can only find it as a Region 2,4 and it is in AUS. I have a Cyberhome CH-300 that is region free and says it does NTSC/PAL.
Will it look normal on my TV? I don't see this DVD coming to US. I was unable to find any information if it will ever be realeas to US market which is dumb because it is a US TV show. No idea why MTV is not releasing it.in US. |

The player is not your problem. Your TV must support PAL output. The FCC has gone to great lengths to ensure the integrity of NTSC. You can easily obtain a PAL compatable TV. Just make sure you check the Specs carefully. | | | Brian |

| Posted: | | | | If your DVD player can indeed convert PAL signals to NTSC signals, you do not also need a PAL televsion to view it.
I've owned three All-Region players over the years that properly convert PAL signals to NTSC. The PAL signal is converted within the DVD player and then output as an NTSC signal. Your TV then receives the signals from the player as NTSC. Quite simple. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| Posted: | | | | It's ok Jon, it is the Xzibit US series Randall is considering, as we have been discussing it. The UK one is crap - IMO | | | |

-drjenkins As I understand it that was exactly what Randall was asking. I must ask though I have an Apex player that is PAL and also region free. The PAL discs play just fine on a Sony and a Toshiba television that I have but will not play on an RCA television. Any ideas. NTSC discs in the APEX player work fine on the RCA television. | | | Brian |

I too have an Apex player that works just fine on all my TVs - but I don't have an RCA one. I seem to remember that the Apex ( or at least mine, which is probably an older one ) had a few peculiarities about which output would be active. Are you using the exact same output on the Apex to all your TVs - or are some S-Video and some Component for example? I think you have to select the output on the menu of the Apex else it stays dead under some configurations. |

I might try switching to S-Video and back again on the menu and see if that helps. Thanks, | | | Brian |

| Posted: | | | | If you are hooking your dvd up to a Projector or rear projected unit it should play the PAL signal also.
But as a suggestion it is best to have a unit that does PAL to NTSC, also find one that can handle RCE and REA coded DVD, this can trip up DVD players.
I am not 100% sure but if you have a HDMI output unit to a HD display or a unit that Up converts to HD this may also play PAL. DO NOT own to test. |

| Posted: | | | | It definetly is the US season 2, I should know, I did the work on it! UPC/EAN 9324915065789. Can't help you with your problem though, we here in Aus. have to convert NTSC to PAL. Since most players here have to be Region Free (as long as you ask for the directions to turn it into one), it's more a matter of having an PAL/NTSC compatible television. Oh, by the way, it's actually season 2 & 3 lumped together and called Season 2. That's why you'll find that I numbered the discs the way they are displayed on the disc: Disc 1: Episode 1 - 8; Disc 2: Episode 1 - 8. Disc 1 is season 2, Disc 2 is season 3. | Posted: | | | | It should work says plays region 1 and ALL I remember if you enter a special # from the keypad you can set it for region free.
Turn on Player then enter
Menu, 1,9 then highlgiht region and press enter until it says "0" then press enject.
I just checked to makes sure my was set to 0 and people claim it will play region 4 dvd's no problems. So now I just have to decided if $35-40 is worth it for season 2 of pimp my ride. | | | Last edited: by Randall_Lind |
