| Posted: | | | | Hi Sorry for the lame question but I’m sick of not having a backup plan so was planning on moving my 6k+ entry dvd profiler database on my iPhone to my movies on the iPhone. There seems to be no straightforward export/import path though? Does anyone have a sure fire way I can do the export/import please? Cheers J |

| Posted: | | | | You can import your exported DVD Profiler XML file to MyMovies via their web site. If you have problems, their customer support has been very helpful. Unfortunately you will need the Windows version of DVD Profiler to generate the XML file. If you have a PC then you need to download the Windows version. If you have an older Intel Mac you need to install Windows 10 with Bootcamp and then download the Windows version. If you have neither then you are screwed unless you have a friend with a PC. If you have a newer Apple silicon Mac, I think your best option would be Parallels, but that is pretty pricey. It would be nice if Invelos would offer to export your data for a fee, but that doesn't seem likely. |

| Posted: | | | | Purchase and download DVD Profiler from this site. Then log in to your account on it. You will then need to connect to your iOS device in order to sync your database. This is done over wi-fi. Check out the other items in this forum on tips. |

| Posted: | | | | In DVD Profiler on your PC go to File:Synchronize with DVD Profiler Mobile and follow the directions. Then on your iOS device go to Databases on the bottom right and then hit + on the top right and follow the directions. |

| Posted: | | | | You can enter either your PC DVD Profiler name or ip address when setting up your iPad. If one doesn't work, try the other. If you still have problems make sure your DVD Profile iOS app settings is set to Local. Also make sure your PC local network is set to PRIVATE. See the link below on how to do that.

| Posted: | | | | Once you get everything up and running, I think you will be very happy. The Windows version has a lot more useful features than the iOS app, such as backup and export. You will also be able to get your box sets working properly. Export is particularly important if you ever want to switch to another iOS app such as MyMovies, but first give DVD Profiler another chance now that things seem to be working in iOS 18. |

| Posted: | | | | Are things working on ios18 now? I couldn’t sync to the servers again after upgrading to ios18 earlier this week. But I have changed phones today so will give it another go. Are we talking iPhone or iPad or both? |

| Posted: | | | | I suspect uploading to the online database is still not working in iOS 18. This seems to be a new server issue and probably will never get fixed. That's why you need to sync directly to your PC. |

| Posted: | | | | Whatever you do, DON'T DELETE YOUR ONLINE DATABASE. Even if it is outdated, will need it if you ever switch to the PC version. After a new install of DVD Profiler on your PC, I strongly recommend you download your online database to your PC before you first sync to your iPad. Otherwise you run the risk of losing your data. | | | Last edited: by nanoron |
