Now that we're doing this one, let me add the British actor John Scott (1927):

He has at least 5 credits that I could find in the CLT as John Scott and only 1 as John Stuart Scott, so he's gonna need that BY. The birth year for John Scott (1927) is incorrect and should be 1926, but since the common name for this actor is John Scott Martin, this actor can be removed from the list of accepted birth years. | | Posted: | | | | The John Scott I was documenting back there was not John Scott Martin, but was actually this one: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0779368/That one was then thought to have a 1927 birth year, so that's what I documented back then, but by now his birth year is listed as 1913. IMDb seems to have switched some of the many John Scott's, their ID's and their credits around, which would explain why the link now points to John Scott Martin, but really, *this* was the John Scott I was documenting. There was indeed never any doubt about the common name of John Scott Martin, so his birth year (1926) was never submitted. There is a Jon athan Scott born in 1927, though, who needs that birth year to distinguish him from other Jonathan Scott's in the database - but that wasn't who I was documenting back then. So in my database, John Scott (1927) has become John Scott (1913). John Scott Martin had and has nothing to do with it. I've also been thoroughly re-checking the credits for the various Mr. Scott's in my database, making sure they're assigned to the correct John or Jonathan Scott. | | Posted: | | | | After some research I found out where the birth year came from and it's actually a valid birth year. But not for any John Scott. The links you've posted where a combination from several actors. And it looks like you were right about the switching part. Most of the credits belonged to John Scott Martin, so that's probably the reason why the IMDB link points to him now. Other titles are for an actor named Jonathan Scott and that's where the birth year came from. And just a few where for the actor you just mentioned.
It's to easy to say John Scott (1927) has become John Scott (1913) that's simply not true. John Scott (1927) should be deleted and John Scott (1913) is a new entry. |
