- Nesting Group Dividers for groups within groups in such films as Back to the Future 2
- Be Able to give the rating of half a star whether it is for the movie itself (probably wouldn't keep it).... or for features (probably would keep it or whatever section being rated. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | This happens every time. After a year since the last update, Ken's announces a new feature and everyone starts added things that they would like. I think Ken should hold off on the new update and take another year or two to maybe add all the other things that people would like in the next update. Scrap what he's already got and start over. |

I am not expecting anything... more so curious if anything at all I will care about to be in this update, because quite frankly so far no... nothing in the least has been mentioned that I care about at all. | | | Pete |

Are you surprised? Since there is no structured way how a release is given birth, everyone who thinks, his wishes could have been lost, stands up for them... We need structure! Creating a feature list and releasing a new version is no exception. - But nobody is willing to move forward to get out of anarchy. | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

It's the same with bugs. What about the stuff I reported a year ago. Did Ken take notice? Is he planning to fix it / has he fixed it? There's no kind of feedback loop. Not even an "I have read it and put it on my todo list". | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

These are all very familiar, long-standing requests... Adding to what's been mentioned already: do something that eliminates the disaster regarding initials with or without (half a) space, and Jr./Sr. suffixes with or without the comma. And do something that allows the CLT to count TV discs properly, like moving the season indicator to it's own field. Aside from a software update, we desperately need a rules update. Address nested casted dividers, address the (ab)use of group dividers for stuff like song titles, original material by credits and personal make-up artists, better address unit/location crew, and so on... The user-built database is one of DVD Profiler's biggest assets, and therefore contributing should be made as simple as possible - everything should be geared towards that goal. The clouded issues I just raised all severly hamper the contribution process: one user feels a personal make-up artist warrants the use of a divider, the other doesn't. One user feels that a foreign splinter unit crew should all be included, the other doesn't. Trying to understand the CLT numbers when a single appearance in a 'Star Trek' episode results in 75 alledged "titles" doesn't make it easy to propagate the right common name. And so on... | | | Last edited: by T!M |

It would make things easier on the users and cut down on approver labor by a huge margin. Having 200+ versions of popular movies in the DB thanks to multiple editions, formats and countries that all have to be manually found and updated for every change (and can never even be definitively correct thanks to birth years and common names being able to changed based on things that happen post-release) is the biggest problem DVD Profiler has right now. Not just "right now" - that's been the biggest problem from day one... | | | Last edited: by T!M |

This is already attainable per the TV series rules. But a few people complained in the forum and Geri made a unwise decision to allow seasons in the original title field that have caused the child profile TV series disc problems. This could be fixed easily with Geri reversing her statements. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |

That would cause different problems. This needs a technical solution. | | | Last edited: by Ace_of_Sevens |
