Without an undo the dialog needs to stay. You more or less have that capability in Windows now. Once things are in the trash, if you didn't mean to put them there, you can right click on them and tell the system to restore them to their original place, essentially undoing the delete. But once the trash is empty...that's another story...but with the right tools, you can recover from this also. I won't go into it here. Edit: That won't work within DVDP, so I guess my answer is moot. But it is a tid-bit for other deleted files, so I will leave it. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. | | | Last edited: by mreeder50 |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the tips. Yes, I could do that, only snag is that it's no longer a hobby of mine to tweak, hack and plugin-code. I am 20 years behind doing all the things I want to do, so I like programs to work out-of-the-box these days #:o) DVDP is a tool, not a pass time for me. |

That still requires the same amount of steps the OP wants to avoid .
1) Flag 2) Press Delete 3) Tick Confirm 4) Press Accept Yes you have to go through the same steps. But if you want to delete 50 flagged profiles, you only need to go through those steps once rather than 50 times. It's a good compromise. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. It is a tool for me as well, it's the forum that is a pass time, and I like the delete function exactly the way it is. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I was actually considering working out a script for you, but since it wouldn't have come from the box, I'm glad I didn't waste my time. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. That was very kind of you. I didn't succeed in formulating my thoughts I see. When I was in my 20-30'es I used a lot of time doing the fun and interesting tweaking and coding and LOVED IT ... but as you well know, it takes a lot of time. I'm getting old and I realized that at the rate I'm going of seing films, about 2 per week, I have to live to be 110+ to see them all - if I don't buy another film in my life That's why I had to make a sad decision - no more tweaking and coding in my spare time (I do it with love 8 hours a day at work). I see that more people in here have collections in the 4-5-6.000, so I guess I'm not alone in this selfmade predicament. And collecting films is just one interest out of 10+, so I have to impose self discipline and hard prioritizing to make a slice of time for all the interests. That's what I tried to say with not much luck I just put in what I would like to see of options, note that I didn't suggest taking away any features that other people obviously like. But I am just as obviously not wanted in this forum, so ... I'll go watch a film instead. Thanks for your kind thought. | | | Last edited: by lbk |

| Posted: | | | | I think a key question here, that I think was even asked already but not answered, is why? I can understand the need to delete a bunch of profiles. Especially for a new person. But you make it sound like you'll be deleting multiple profiles on a regular basis. I typically delete a few profiles in an entire year. So I'm honestly curious what exactly it is you're doing that even leads to this request in the first place. Because if this is something you truly do find yourself doing regularly, then perhaps that's the real problem that needs to be solved here.
Otherwise flag the ones you want gone, then go to Collection -> Flagged -> Remove or delete or whatever it's called. That's far less painless than deleting one at a time. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Dear Mark Harrison. Thankyou for taking the effort to ask a nice question. I am very surprised my small suggestion spawned such a fuss ... or even anger. I am really being taken to school here by some, trying to teach me why confirm windows are made etc. Thankyou! Noone took the effort to read what I actually suggested:
"Suggestion: One-click delete possible (by setup)" AN OPTION ... OPTION IS AN EXTRA! ... WHICH DID NOT DEPRIVE ANYBODY OF THE ORIGINAL FUNCTIONALITY. So why are people so worked up? I hoped for just giving the developers my 2c worth of feedback, not getting into hard discussions with other users. But the forum is the only place to leave wishes I guess, I could not find a suitable email to write to.
I will load 50-100-200 or more films regularly in batches and many - MANY - are not found in the database (many has local dealer UPC's which are useless). So I scan the lot blindly, load them and those I can find by title I weed out among the Unkown Title by deleting, the rest I punch in. So the way I like to work with this tool, I delete many temp scans.
I am sorry to have disturbed in here ... happy colleting to everybody! I will just use this wonderful tool as is from now on. |

I agreed that as a setup option I'd have no problem with it . Quoting 8BallMax Quote: Although, I do believe the OP was suggesting an "Option" in the program setup to allow for a "One Click Delete". As a Setup option I don't see the problem with it. For what it's worth, Welcome to the Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World of DVD Profiler and happy collecting . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

I just didn't agree no more or less then that. It is absolutely nothing personal. But as much of a right as you have to make a suggestion (all the right in the world) Everyone else here has the same amount of right to agree or disagree... and post our thoughts about it. Which I am sure is what Invelos would want... so they can see how big of a demand there is for each suggestion. I have made many suggestions over the years. Some people loved... some people liked... some people completely disagreed with. But I wouldn't expect any different. Out of the many suggestions I made... some made it into the program some have not (at least not yet). Pretty much the way things work. And it is about how I would expect them to work. | | | Pete |

But if you choose to stick around and get to know people, you'll find the vast majority of us aren't nearly as bad as your first impression would indicate. | Posted: | | | | Ok, here is something easy if you want to try it:
(1) Get the tool "AutoIt" (free) (2) Compile the following code. Run the resulting .exe after starting Profiler. It wil sit and wait for the confirmation screen, and when it appears, it will tick the box and press "OK".
While(WinExists ( "Invelos Software DVD Profiler")) If (WinExists("Remove DVDs from Collection")) Then ControlCommand("Remove DVDs from Collection", "", "TCheckBox2","Check") ControlSend("Remove DVDs from Collection", "", "TAdvGlowButton2","{SPACE}") EndIf WEnd
(3) Create a command file, call it anything, say "QuickDelete.txt"
MenuCommand "Collection\Flagged\Remove From Collection"
(4) Now you can flag the profiles to be deleted, run the command file and they will disappear. To make it super cool, use the MyTools plugin and you can make an Icon to run the command file. Then just flag the profiles and click the icon. Done. The Icon becomes part of your layout, and will be there across sessions until you delete it or change layouts, but you need to start the autoit script each time you restart DVD Profiler. | | | Thanks for your support.
