Especially disappointing was the IT part which was absurd like any 24 episode.

Oh come on! As if the rest of the movie was any less absurd (driiving cars UP a wall to take out a helicopter, fighter jets maneuvering underneath highway overpasses).

It's an action flic and meant to entertain in a blow-s**t-up manner. Logic thrown out the window (and blown up on the way down for that matter) is a natural ingredient to this kind of movies....

I enjoyed it immensely and rank it on par with part two and slightly above part 3. Part one is still the best of the franchise

The helicopter bit was a tad bit of a stretch, but not the fighter.  The F-22 Raptor is fully capable of maneuvering that way - not that it would mind you, but it could.

What the hell, the whole flick was over the top, but it was fun, and exciting, and Willis' John McClane character is an old friend whom it was very enjoyable getting to see again.  That's why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

Aww, come on!  He wouldn't have been able to say that line if he hadn't!

I finally caught it in the theater, and it was better than I expected going in to it. I don't see the PG-13 really hurting the film. Add a few more expletives, and you'd easily have an R.

I heard a rumor (the source is questionable) that Fox will be releasing an R-rated version later this year on DVD and BR, but who knows.

That would be super!  Never did like the way they "dumb down" these movies for kids.  Most of the teenage kids I know use language that would make an old China Fleet sailor blush like a new bride.
